Adding to e’s club-oriented Y-series is a 3-track E.P by French producer, Jader Toya: Amartya/Pompeï. Jader Toya’s contribution to the Y-Series results in its most off-kilter release yet: A club music offering with influences from all over the globe mixed with a healthy dose of deconstructed structures. Futuristic synth lines, robotic vocal chops and chaotic rhythms are the main ingredients used by Jader Toya to cook up this lethal concoction.

The E.P starts by getting straight into it with Amartya, a title that seems to reflect the Oriental-sounding vocals found all over this track, a banger that starts off with a more minimal syncopated drum line but uses ominous melodies to progress the track. The track Pompeï continues its predecessor’s tradition with a more melodic approach with the rhythmic side taking the backseat. The final track of the E.P, a stripped-back dub version of Pompeï, reverses this approach with the melodies being used sparsely which lets Jader Toya’s chaotic approach to rhythm shine more. This dark deconstructed approach to club music proves to be a nice addition to the Y-series’ eclectic identity.
